Our office coffee machine is a 2 head Elektra HX machine coupled with a Mini Mazzer E.
We are having problems calibrating the grind setting on the Mazzer to produce reasonable quality shots from both the single and double filter baskets. If the grinder is adjusted to make a 25-30 sec shot with the double, then the single basket shots ends up choking and conversely grinder setting calibrated for the single make the double shots way too fast. So we keep the grinder calibrated for the double as there are 2 PFs with the double baskets and they are used more often.
Up-dosing the double does help a bit but not enough and often leads to too much coffee and the PF wont engage properly or else it "blows".
Is this normal?
Are there any clever tricks for getting good shots from both baskets without adjusting the grind setting?
Is it possible to buy 3rd party baskets which are better matched?
Cheers
