Re: correct definition of espresso and sunbeam em6

There was a Sunbeam factory 6 blocks away for many, many years.
Alas it is now no more.
If an appliance needs repair my nearest "agent" is in Ashfield a good 1/2 hour drive away.
Its on busy, busy, Parramatta Rd and a pain to get to during business hours.
Only God knows how long you have to wait for parts (fromChina?) before they can repair anything.

When the factory was open I could walk there and have things repaired or replaced in no time.

    Ahhh...the good old days.

Re: correct definition of espresso and sunbeam em6

Coming back to the original line of thought....... (Thats OK guys & gals, thread hijacking leads to some interesting discussion !)

I now have the EM0480 to go with the EM6900 (and have started using the former).

Any suggestions on grind setting for the small versus large basket of the EM6900?

How much should be put into the different baskets (with the recommended grind) to leave the slight showerhead impression?

I know these are exacting questions, but hey, if someone knows and wants to boast, be my guest.

From my experience, I need to run a courser grind in the single basket...

I have my grinder adjusting between 21 and 24.... but Im still experimenting...

Are you filling the basket Marcstolk, or something else like 1/2 way, 2/3 way, etc ??

I leave (after tamped) about 2-3 mil below the top of the basket... This is what Mr Bassett says to do... so I try follow what he does... he seems to know what he is doing...

Did you get the Sunbeam DVD??? If not, contact Sunbeam and theyll send it out to you.

No, I did not get the DVD and have not attended their course.

I figured I would book in for that once I have started to use the machine which is less than a week away now.

Having brought that up, I might just hop on the phone and do it asap.

(The DVD is provided during the course isn it?)

Thats my understanding yes they give it out at the course... but you can have Sunbeam mail it out to you... but having said that, the course is very good and worth doing.
