Re: Perfect Powerless Espresso? HEY PRESSO!

Had a call from the shipping agent last night, the ship is due on the 27th Sept, cargo to be cleared within 10 working days. Coffee Snobs will know the minute I can see them with my own eyes.
We will offer them to Snobs on a first come first served basis, details of the cost to CSers will be released at the same time; supply CS member name with payment by direct debit and 4 working days later.....just in time for the camping/fishing/extreme sports season.
Details of the cost to CSers will be released at the same time.

      Ha!

Presso are now site sponsors it seems!

I got in contact via the UK website yesterday that had a link to the Australian one - excellent price they are offering too. I will be negotiating that particular purchase very shortly I think.

That is the best damn thing I have ever seen. I forsee a line outside my office to use it. . .

Judging by the response here, its probably a very good thing that Presso are soon to be site sponsers!

You couldnt have done a better add for Presso if youd tried Andy!

          Nice bike by the way...
It was never meant to be an ad for the Presso but does appear that way because the user experiance was honestly GOOD! ;-)

...and yeah, its a great bike too. Happy birthday to it this week (1 year old) and after 15,000km of mostly twisty roads I can also recommend one of these toys for those looking for a way of burning off some of the caffeine.

Yes the Australian Presso distributor is a CS member too... he goes by the name... wait for it.... Presso.

Have a re-read of the the post above yours Grendel for more (not very subtle) clues and maybe have a think about giving decaf a try sometime.

I have been assured that CS members will get first crack at this shipment so stay tuned for details.

They are available online at our store fore $250.
CoffeeSnobs will be able to get a better deal of course, but we have to wait until the stock arrives. As you are aware with the travails of the HOTBOX roaster, importing things is a weird business.
The price comes down as the interest in the product increases. Ask your retailer why they havent got the PRESSO in stock, when the retailer contacts me, Ill send another order, the more retailers, the cheaper the PRESSO is to Coffee Snobs.

                  Just curious, Andy...

When I bicycle tour I carry all my equipment (about 25kgs) in panniers. Weight and bulk are key issues. Can you give me an idea on how the Presso fares on those counts? It looks a bit bulky in the picture...

                  Best wishes, Russell

I just weighed it... 1700gm complete.

It is bulky but it fitted in my day pack (see picture) easily and didnt take-up too much space as tee-shirts, socks etc can be packed in and around it. If I had to guess I would say that I only lost a litre of space in total.

I also used a mokapot as a kettle, you could boil water in a coke-can just as easily.

Re: Perfect Powerless Espresso? HEY PRESSO!

Thanks for that, Andy. At 1.7kgs it would be heavier than my stove, pots and assorted other bits of cooking paraphenalia together. So I dont think it will find a place in my panniers. Still, its an amazing looking piece of gear - a reall campfire, conversation starter I would imagine for those who dont have to worry about bulk and weight.

                      Best wishes, Russell

Perhaps you could mount it to the handlebars like a figurehead - actually looking at it again you could use it to replace the handlebars. . .

Producing coffee from my bicycle handlebars.... Now that would be a camp ground talking point!!!

Perhaps I should also explore the possibilities of connecting the dynamo to a popper. Fresh coffee on tap anywhere in the countryside. That would be a touring cyclist heaven!

                          Best wishes, Russell

                            Nice Z1000 Andy.
I didnt know you were a fellow biker.
                            I ride an 2004 R1.

That Presso seems like a good idea. I can even see some crema.
