Re: Pics of my EM6910 with Naked PF

i think the standard 6910 PF is a lower price now from SB, like $50~ instead of the original $90~.... so its probably worthwhile just buying a normal ansd holesawing it.

    "That was a joke Joyce."

We had a roasting day for the mostly Sydney based CSers a short while ago and grendel recently flew all the way to Sydney to have a coffee with fellow CSers (I think he fitted in some work as well).

Come on you Melbourne Snobs!, answer poddy.

Re: Pics of my EM6910 with Naked PF

The Sunbeam owners that I know who have naked p/f has been because their machine has been replaced which resulted in have a spare portafilter. So that way they could modify one and have one with spouts still. I was under the impression that they do take a different portafilter to a commercial machine as well which may limit off the shelf options for naked p/f. In my case I bought a better pf for my machine and am planning to cut down the original one. But my machine is not a Sunbeam obviously. I know Marcstolk has the Sunbeam and naked p/f which he cut down himself (well actually someone else did it for him). Give him a pm though he will be able to point you in the right direction from an owners point of view.

    Steven,

Most of the posts Ive seen, the person has modified a PF themselves.... Im not sure if a standard commercial PF fits the Sunbeam (I know it is the same basket size - just not sure if the lugs etc are the same....)

Im sure one of the 6910 owners will let you know... if they take a standard commercial PF then try CoffeeParts..... their prices are good and they ship next day - even to Perth! You could even give Pedro a ring at CoffeeParts. He is both very helpful and knowledgeable... if he can hell certainly help you out.

A naked PF is very worthwhile in demonstrating how good your tamping is and helping you get it correct.

    Steven,

Firstly what type of machine have you got? The site sponsors (some of who are in Victoria) might be able to help you out, but it depends what type of machine it is.

If it is something like a Sunbeam, then you need to purchase a replacement PF from Sunbeam and then cut the hole yourself (several people have done this with a hole saw). If it is a standard PF then there are bottomless or naked PFs for these. Also CoffeeParts (who provide excellent service and fast shipment) have these available for certain brands.... but knowing the brand is the first step.
