Sorry, Clinto, that isnt particularly useful right now.  Weve already paid for these cups, and they have landed.  Its only a matter of deciding what to do with the 13 missing sets.

i dont see the problem with the post. Most people had thought they were getting 6 cups; and due to circumstances beyond everyones control will only be getting 4.

My plan for the cups was to replace all the cups i have on top of my machine with one style (tulips and espresso). 4 tulips wont be enough for me so I was planning on purchasing another 4 from espresso parts. That was all the post was intended as.

If your order did not include the tulips, you need not worry - all of these are accounted for!

Ive considered the feedback Ive had regarding the tulip cups and also reflected on the fact that CS is a community. My intention regarding this venture was never to turn it into a business or make a profit - it was meant to be an adventure; to do something nice for people, and yes, to get myself a set of these elusive tulip cups!

So with all this in mind, Ive decided to repack all the tulips into sets of 4 and not to make any exceptions. If you had placed an order that included the tulips, only one set of 4 will be available to you.

I understand that this will upset some people and am really sorry for that. If anyone would like to cancel all or part of their order please let me know your bank details and I will refund immediately.

Alternatively, if you would like to proceed with one set of 4, plus any other styles you may have ordered, you will be entitled to 1/3 refund of the cost of the tulips - ie. if you paid $44 per set that equates to $14.50; if you paid $50 per set then that equates to $16.50. Everyone who originally ordered 2 sets of tulips will be entitled to a minimum refund of the full cost of one set, plus 1/3 of the other.

I will also send this message privately to all involved and will await your individual responses - I still only have about half of the delivery addresses needed!

Dennis, I am fine with just getting 4 of the 6 tulips that I ordered. This is a small sacrifice to make to allow a fellow CSer to also enjoy these awesome cups :-)

To tell you the truth, I am happy that we got any at all. Dennis has gone to a lot of effort for us and he did not have to do it.

Sure, it is a bit disappointing to think that we are not going to get exactly what we want, I would love 6 tulips as 2 were for a freind, but I am happy to take the 2 brown cappucino cups or even 2 brown demitasse cups if that means that a CS member who would otherwise miss out gets a set of four cups. I can always give that friend something else if it came down to it, being a friend, he would understand.

We need to put a bit of perspective on this and realise that it is not always about the individual, but the community as a whole.

So anyone willing to do an ACF CS import? Ive been looking everywhere for a white 8oz cappucino cup.

Clinto, I have to say Im a little surprised by your post - I just dont see how it was helpful given the situation.  If you would prefer to purchase from them I will happily send you an immediate refund.

As one of the 13, I am fine with either 4 tulips or 4/6 amalfi cups.

What a bugger after all Dennis hard work! I was the one who also thought of the pro rata solution, but it would require a lot of people to agree to it.

We could pro rata the order at 20/33, ie approx 4 cups for every 6 ordered. We are all CSers together and cooperation has to be the name of the game.

Dennis pointed out to me that even this solution could require some people to take 3 instead of 4. In the spirit of helping out Ill put my hand up now if needed.

Dennis had done a superhuman amount of work on this project and this option would require even more work for him, but hey CSers, what about it? This way everyone who wanted tulips would get some, and no-one would get none. I think the economists call this maximizing the utilty for the group as a whole ... no doubt there is a CSer economist who will set me straight on this, but Ill bear the pain   willingly if it helps.

1) 6 cups, cappucino style would be fine if needed.

Or:

2) 4 cups, tulip style, if necessary

Im really sorry, but 3 cups is not a set, so that is not an option as far as Im concerned.

Hmm, I was one that ordered 2 sets of tulips, but one of them was a promised gift for a friend, and one was for myself (we both have been searching for tulips for so long!). I would be happy to take them in sets of 4, but am not super keen to give a set up. If it comes down to me splitting my order to make everyone happy though, Im sure hell understand that he doesnt get his cups ;D

Thanks folks. I believe NP would refund me for the cost of the cups - but doubt they would cover the cost of freight. A resolution with them will probably be a long way off and I coudnt anything arriving before Christmas. I would rather get this sorted out now if possible.

I think we also need to wait until Dennis maybe gets some resolution from NP. Have they offered to refund your money for the outstanding sets dennis?
