    Hey,

Does anyone know where I can source a Toddy CP in Aus or even brissy?
Is there something else that is similar it that will do the same job?

    Thanks

    Gday CK,

Im not sure where now but Javaphile detailed how to make a pretty decent CP quite some time back :-?.... Might be best to do a Google, Site Specific search and see what you can turn up. Java might catch this thread in the mean time though, and remember where all the original info is stashed....

    Cheers young fella,
    Mal.

I use a 3 litre plastic water bottle. Steep the grounds for 24-36 hours at room temp and then decant through a large holed filter (conical sieve) and then finally a fine sieve (chinois) or muslin cloth.

Much quicker doing a 2 stage filtration...Ive found that using a fine filter takes 4-6 hours to fully drain.

            Cold press coffee/aka toddy coffee.

Coarsely ground coffee is steeped at room temp water for an extended period of time (12-36 hours). It is low in acidity, and is very useful for cooking with (very little bitterness, unlike espresso which gets nasty in taste as it cools). Normally diluted with water or milk when drinking as a beverage.

Hario does a very cool looking cold brew system, sorta like the little brother of the one used in Singapore.

p.s. 1st time I came across the term I thought it was some sort of boozed coffee
