Re: 18g Filter for Silvia and ringing boiler?
Thanks .There seems to be two threads discussing the same thing, so I’ll see what develops on the other.

Hi Jono,
I have the “300013” and find that the ridge is so deep it retains masses of coffee after the puck has been knocked out. I was wondering if the “521994” was ridgeless ? Do you know ?

Re: 18g Filter for Silvia and ringing boiler?
Hi guys,
I went to coffee parts yesterday and they were great very friendly and helpful.
I bought a LaMarzocco double filter basket part no: 300013 it fits the silvia pf perfectly. I found it to be a little bit bigger, than the part no: 521994, well it was square at the bottom, were as the Part no: 521994 was round like the Rancilio one, it was almost double the price but it was worth it the coffee shots i pulled were instantly better. i tried the coarser ground too it worked.
pics on coffeeparts.com.au under the Marzocco parts headers
thanks for the info,
jono

Ive still got the rancilio double around and it will always be disappointing if you try to go for 60mL in 30 seconds. However, if you cut it at 40mL in 20 seconds, the results will be much nicer.

Re: 18g Filter for Silvia and ringing boiler?
Id be interested to know what you think after you try the deeper basket. I got one for my Silvia some time ago and the difference was dramatic. Id try the standard basket every now and then and found it disappointing.

All the best Brett
ps i needed roughly one click coarser grind with the larger basket, but dont assume that- just dont be surprised if it behaves a little differently, youll work it out

Re: 18g Filter for Silvia and ringing boiler?
Yes Jon- its a perfect fit. Another option is the 14g LaMarzocco double which is also deep and fits the standard Silvia handle....
Enjoy!

Re: 18g Filter for Silvia and ringing boiler?
so the bezzera part no. 521994 14gr is bigger than the silvia standard double, and should fit the silvia group handle?

Re: 18g Filter for Silvia and ringing boiler?
re the 18g as FC said the 18g needs a deeper basket- I used an old boema one- bezzera will do
Really the boema/generic true 14g ones are great and will fit- I had the little basket with my ECM and I think it is the same as what the Silvia comes with. A coffee roaster friend packed both 14 and 18 with coffee and weighed them- the 18 fitted well over 20 and the 14 was fitting 17-18g
Either way youll get a richer fulle cup but need to adjust the grind etc
