Re: new upgrade machine
why not look at the Minore II demo that Chris currently has for sale. Im very happy with the Minore I that I have.
Is expobar offering the rotary pump option on this, so it is semi plumbed in?
a plumbed in rotray pump version would be great machine.

Hi Morning and welcome!Originally posted by morningshot link=1163038733/0#0 date=1163038733Morning all
Looking to upgrade from 2 years with Silvia, not that I dont love her anymore we have just grown apart!
Thinking of Italian glamour model. ECM giotto. electra 60. isomac tea.
New grinder, maybe, pretty happy with my Rocky.
Please give freely of your thoughts. ie
Has anybody bought anything from this online seller .www.coffeeitalia.co.uk
ECM giotto seems like a reasonable buy in Australia, others dont seem to have much presence in the market place.

Thanks
Why buy overseas and have no warranty support if things go awry when you have a heap of sponsors here, all with great product and all wanting to help you. You have Maver, Diadema, Unico, Expobar, ECM and other great brands here and at keen prices.
Support your sponsors and youll find a wealth of unbiased information and that we will still be here should you need a hand...
regards

Re: new upgrade machine
OK, Im a bit slow. Cant remember who I know from Newcastle who upgraded their gaggia to a rocky; sorry!
Veneziano email is a bit unreliable at the moment, as the guys are still working on the infrastructure for the new building. Best to PM me here or PM Veneziano_Caffe (which Ill then answer anyway ;P)
Cheers,
Luca

Re: new upgrade machine
Thanks for the advice.
I totally agree about the grinder ,I had a gaggia MDF before the rocky and was having so much trouble with it, finally the wife, bless her cotton socks said it was noisy, which it was, it gave me an excuse to upgrade. After that no real trouble, I had more variance with bean freshness than anything else, an easily solvable problem.
Luca I sent you an email to your company for some info on the Makin, Im from Newcastle, which should give you enough info to work out who I am with divulging my identity to every internet fraudster in the world.

Re: new upgrade machine
Hi there,
I just sold my silvia and rocky and will be upgrading to a Makin Espresso in a few weeks. (I should point out that I work for the company that imports them) The fact that it is a new machine to the marketplace doesnt bother me at all, having poked around inside it. The internals are similar to existing machines (actually, many of the prosumer class machines around use common components), but the details are more to my liking=
The absolute best piece of advice that I can give you is to have the machines that you are interested demonstrated to you. Its one thing to have a spartan list of features on the internet. It is entirely another to actually compare two machines side-by-side. Its interesting to note the subtle differences between machines that look similar on paper. And remember, people who actually demonstrate things to you and let you use the machines are probably going to provide you with better warranty support than faceless internet companies that can just abscond.
The next super-important piece of advice is to make sure that you have a good grinder.
Anyhoo, Im off to enjoy a nice cappuccino from my silvia/rocky duo while I still have them. If you want to sell your silvia, the buy/sell section on this webpage is probably a good bet. There have been quite a few silvias, including my own, bought and sold recently. I suspect that this is a good time to sell a silvia, as the new model that is coming out will probably come with a price hike.
Cheers,
Luca

Nice choice of machinery you are looking at. If I were you and assuming you are in Australia I would be looking at the for sale section as Talk coffee seem to have a few low use demos at the moment. I think even a giotto. Of course all the sponsors have machines that would cater for you though so I would recommend lookign at them as you know you will get great service all the way through the sale and after sales as well.
As an Expobar owner I would recommend looking at them as well. I have just bought the office semi-auto which is the base model and is excellent. They do have others in the range that would suit your requirements as well. A few sponsors sell them. HX unit so are quite capable.
Good luck with the selection and be sure to let us know what you get.
