Re: Cleaning the Shower-Screen - Need help
Wow, thank you all for the information. I will take a look at randys site.
I wonder if i could ask if the water is meant to gently flow out...or flow out like an actual shower. Thanks again, Dashadoo

Re: Cleaning the Shower-Screen - Need help
I find the easiest way is to use a stubby flat screwdriver to gently lever the shower screen and seal out.
Dont rush.
You need to work your way around the screen and prise it down, a little bit at a time, all around several times.

Re: Cleaning the Shower-Screen - Need help
Its held in place by the black rubber group head seal. Remove the black rubber seal (may need to put a screw into and pull out with pliers if it is really stuck) and the shower screen will come with it.Originally posted by 7277657E77727979160 link=1266578685/15#15 date=1287022404Hi There, My shower screen needs a clean because it is not flowing water through it like an actual shower. I can not find any screw however to remove it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Here is a pic.

Extra details as to make and model and your location would help as not every one here has access to the new Google backtrack application...
Yep.. That buzzing in the background is their new tracking and monitoring app. Helps service people to work out who they are talking to...
Ohooo almost looks the same.. An e61 ;D randys site has all the info and tricks.

Here is the early demo of the tracking app.

Re: Cleaning the Shower-Screen - Need help
Many machines have what is called a dispersion disc or dispersion block that is sandwiched between the group and the shower screen. This part takes the water from 1 single hole and distributes it evenly over the shower screen where it is usually spread out even more by the screen itself. Lots of variations though... My KA Pro Line (Gaggia in disguise) has 4 large holes in the dispersion disc and in my NS Aurelia there are 9 smaller ones. Different variations to accomplish the same thing... take 1 stream of water and distribute it as evenly as possible over the bed of coffee.
Do clean these parts often. At home or on the commercial machine I like to remove the screen(s) and dispersion disc(s) at least every 2-3 weeks and soak/scrub them good with JoeGlo (or similar detergent). While doing this also thoroughly clean the group area, gasket, etc... Later!

Re: Cleaning the Shower-Screen - Need help
Ok.......cool..........I read somewhere on here that you clean it with the solution every 50-100 coffees, but other places says once a year......
i suppose it depends on how your coffee is performing and the oil content of the shower screen.........ummmm
