    Re: Sirai pressurestat - rebuild or replace

    hi Timo
    there are two different sizes in the pressurestat, so if you intend to service it you need to measure the diaphram.

    In most cases you are better to replace the whole unit

    apart from the diaphram drying out and loosing its flexability, the electrical contacts burn out, and dont make proper contact.
    these are not able to be cleaned succesfully

    The deadband of my sirai pressurestat is too wide at 0.4bar. It is the older style with the gray/blue metal box.

    Coffeeparts sells new membrane kits - will it fit these older sirai pressurestats or do I need to simply replace?

    If it will fit, is it wise to spend the extra $50 to just replace? Why?
    New = ?
    Refurb kit = ?

    Time and effort...  In addition if  the unit its self was flaky one would always just replace.  The fact that there is a refurb kit; indicates a couple of things.

    1:  The main system must be robust and or expensive

    2: A refurb kit is also a method of upgrading the internals as advancements or different needs are required..

    Your call.. Both will take some effort and cost.

    Any activity that involves electrical parts must be performed by a qualified and licensed maintenance technician
