Do a search and look for topics on Bean storage.....

Not worth the $ or the effort. All marketing and little real understanding of the whole process.

Get some coffee bags with the one way valve from Bean Bay or a sponsor, the best system that really IS designed for coffee bean storage.

If you use freezer bag inserts, the coffee bags them can be re-used many time without requiring washing inside.

I was given one of these, and have been using it to store my decaf for several months.

I think the bags probably work better, as Bullit says.  They can be reused many times, so you probably would never recoup the cost of purchasing a cannister.  I havent done a scientific test, but I think the coffee lasts longer in the bags, which I had been using for the decaf since I started roasting my own coffee a couple of years ago. I usually drink the decaf within five days of roasting, and have found the beans have gone stale at the end of this period for the first time since I started my doing my own roasts. This is not entirely due to the cannister - I leave the beans in the hopper overnight. But I did this before without a problem.
