Hi all, sorry if this has already been done, I have acquired a Famea Family espresso machine from a thrift store for $175. I do not have any instructions for this machine, can anyone help? Also I have read a little about modifying this machine for better espresso, Does anyone have any plans/ step by step info for someone that is just starting to learn about espresso other than drinking a lot. I am very handy and have many tools/ shop. Thanks.

Youve done really well- the family is similar to Silvia ($700+) and botticelli (($900+)
Personally I wouldnt bother with modifying- you have a seriously good single boiler machine- brass boiler, commercial size group/ filter handle, the ability to try diff baskets, good temperature stability etc etc
Make sure the machine is allowed to warm up for a while- look at this thread about the Silvia (very similar in many ways):

Of course I assume it is running with no obvious leaks

    All the best
