    Mmmmm...

Looks like a earlier tipo model.... if so a built in pump was optional.... which doesnt help much....

If you need one - using a CoffeeParts new pump and motor - about $500 for the cheapest...

As to price... dont have a clue (depends heavily on age and condition) but one sold on Evilbay today for $660...

    Did you buy it????

no i didnt buy it but i know the person that did and was wondering if i was a good deal or not, i guess it depends on if it has an interal pump hey, also its 10 years old if that helps.also on ebay he said he tested it and it all seemed to work fine so im guessing it has a pump. why do u call it evilbay?? anymore input welcome

segrave.... a 10 year old machine can be fine (hey mine is 17 years old and required very little restoration) but it can also be a crock.... depends on how well and regularly it was maintained, how heavily it was used.... a whole pile of things which you cant ascertain from a photo... and is hard enough in person...

The outside can look great (cafe staff normally keep that clean as the customers see it).... but without service the interior could be a disaster requiring lots of expensive repairs.... and unless you can do them yourself... they will be VERY expensive!!

Why is it called Evilbay here on CS.... well the site sponsors dont like referring to the real thing - but more importantly - it can be a place of evil sellers who dont correctly describe the item..... Ive had one such sale.... and all the promises made by the people running Evilbay are worth nought when it comes to the pinch (the person I bought an Item from was selling illegal goods which could not be used - and the management of Evilbay didnt care!!!- I lost my money on that one!!!

So be warned - it is Evilbay!!!

Re: La povoni 2 group machine

Im no expert but they look like e61s to me, or something very close to it.

Evilbay from my estimation (and others may have other ideas) was coined simply because it can be a risky place to buy a machine; you often dont get to inspect it pre-purchase, an unsuspecting buyer can end up buying a real lemon of a machine thats not been looked after and can cost an arm and a leg to get back to working order, and if you dont pick it up youve often got to part with (for this type of machine) hundreds or thousands of dollars to someone you dont know before you get to see the machine.

That said, if you know what youre looking for and undertake the appropriate research / investigation, you can pick up some bargains. Many of us keep an eye on whats going on, and the fact JavaB asked the question shows he knows whats currently on there.

Well the seller has a 30 day money back policy if your not satisfied. im in melbourne but my bro is in brisbane and hes going to pick the machine up on the weekend so do u know of a place that can check it out to see how well maintained it has been?

The 30 day money back is "I guarantee the the item(s) will arrive in the condition as described in the Auction details."

and the only description details is that it is in good working order- whatever that means..... if genuine then yes, it would have a pump and would be a pretty good buy at that price. The saving grace is he offered a inspection prior to bidding ... so it could be real..

Re checking - both Greg an I are in WA... now if you want to pay for a return air fare to brisbane

other than that I dont know anyone up there who works with commercial machines.

If you dont mind paying an inspection fee of some sort, perhaps a call to our site sponsor in Brisbane..... "Barazi" (at the top of the sponsor list on the L/H side of the page), could check it over for you. I dont know if they do this sort of thing at all but probably worth an "insurance" phone call to check it out

For a decent going over Id send it to a coffee tech that specializes in generic machine restoration. Id suggest try Wayne at CoffeeTek. Hes honest and has had many years experience with restoration and maintenance of virtually every commercial machine shipped to Australia.

La Pavoni have their own version of the E61 group. I dont think its an EB61, which is the Spanish variant found on Expobar and the like.

BTW, theres a few people here who keep an eye on you know where...

                      Cheers,
                      Mark.
