Andy doesn't check here in the general forum too often (too busy roasting special coffee!)Originally posted by Avex View PostHi Andy,
I placed an order yesterday for a cafelat portafilter and after seeing your earlier post, I’ve enquired about getting a custom wooden handle made at Pullman tampers. He’s requesting the thread size, would you be able to furnish me with that information?
Would have PM’ed but realised that function is disabled for you.
Thanks!
Try this method…

both valid and great points. think i'll place my order now :POriginally posted by burr View PostI have the wide double, and honestly its naked most of the time, the only times I put the base plate on is for splitting a shot (which I want wide spouts for). You might find when stock is replenished the price will go up by 20% caus of the exchange rate.

Then Andy will be left with an opened box with the picture not matching whats inside, which complicates things!

ah please pardon my ignorance then Andy, will the mini dbl spout with Bakelite handles be in stock anytime soon though?
methinks it could be as simple as swapping the spouts around from one packaging to the other, but i'm guessing it's not that simple :P.

...not really, using the "Contact Us" on the bottom of every page would be the fastest way to get an answer. You got lucky and someone else told me about this post!so perhaps asking on this thread would be the best way to get an answer.
The other good news for you is that the rubber and the bakelite handles on the stainless Cafelat Group Handles does unscrew so yes, you could adapt your own handles if you wanted.

about to pull the trigger on a cafelat pf then realise the handle is bolted on, was hoping to get wooden handles on one of these
edit: noticed CS was the only aus distributor for the cafelat pf, so perhaps asking on this thread would be the best way to get an answer. When will the bakelite handle with mini double spouts be back in stock? thanks!Last edited by Avex; 4 December 2014, 04:32 AM.

No way. Very happy with the Double Boiler. Very consistent temperature and pressure, leaving the prime variable as the beans & the grind.Originally posted by Pauly404 View PostTime to get a new machine then

The programability is great. I find an extended pre infusion is very effective with most beans. Also, I've set the shot clock to volumetric, so get a consistent 60ml with
the double basket. I adjust the grind to get the pressure at 8 to 9 bars.
The result: consistently great coffee ☕

It seems that there isn't a Cafelat portafilter for the Breville BES920. I have a great wooden handle with a M12 thread, but no suitable portafilter!

Yes the handle easily unscrews. One off future projects to make timber PF handle and brew lever, water and steam knobs.
Cheers

Hi, available for a Breville BES920? Also, does the handle unscrew and can a wooden handle with a M12 bolt replace the standard Bakelite or rubber handle?
