Cimbali Group Head leak
Did you get the conical seal? Is the group nice and clean where the seal sits? On mine a very thin film of "stuff" forms behind the seal over time (despite regular back flushing and cleaning ) but it's quick and easy to remove the collar and seal and give the group a good clean/scrub. If you remove the collar and seal you will soon see what's going on.
Cheers

Many thanks everyone for the info.
Reckon it's a cimbali M32 group head. Problem I now have is that the engineer firstly couldn't identify it (I did), and secondly, he put the wrong seal in it. It leaked like a sieve!
I've now got the right seals 8.5mm thick, but its spitting water out - didn't do that before. I've added 2 x .8mm shims now making the seal 8.5mm + 1.6mm thick and its only just stopping it from leaking. But the porter filters very tight in the head.
What has the engineer done? And what can I do to rectify this - I don't trust the engineer now.

A quick phone call to Coffee Parts is always worth while when trying to source the correct item...

I get the conical seals (part 700623) for my E98. For some reason the E98 group on the Faema page on coffee parts site is a different group. As you have discovered the cimbali page has the right group showing.
Cheers

Thanks for your help, much appreciated. Couldn't get the seals to fit as you suggested, because it's one of these:Originally posted by TOK View PostHi. You simply need to order a seal to suit your E98 Compact 2A. Except for the replica Legend machine, to my knowledge Faema hasn't used E61 groups since back in the 60's and maybe the early 70's. The seals from an E61 dont fit your E98....

Unknown group head - need help please
Can anyone recognise this group head from the photos attached please.
Its sat in my Faema E98 Compact 2A. I'm trying to change the grouphead seal, the E61 seals don't fit.
The size of the old seal is 70mm x 58mm x 8mm and not the E61 size of 73mm. Getting desperate.
Sorry, can't upload image (don't know why??)Tags: None
