So I installed the brita purity C150 kit (only took me about 3 goes until I didn't have any leaks
) that the friendly chaps at jetblack sold me, however there was no installation manual and searching on the net is just giving me marketing pdfs. After installing, I tested my unfiltered water and found it's already quite soft (close to yellow on the test strips.) The filtered water is even more yellow, but both the 70% and 30% bypass settings look the same to me - I'm guessing it's as soft as it needs to be and at the limit of what the test strips can indicate (I'm in Sydney, north shore, I believe the water around here is already quite soft)
So I'm guessing I can bypass quite a bit, but am not sure which way around the 30-70 figures are. Does 70% mean that 70% is getting bypassed (this is what I'd assume but we know what assumptions are the mother of) or does 70% mean 70% is getting filtered? Am I even on the right track and is this even what the bypass setting does?
