    IKR??!!

Just about tears of frustration and rage; the included Teflon tape was worse than useless!

    Hi all,
I've just received a C150 water system to use in Brisbane. As found by previous posters, it was helpfully devoid of instructions. What setting are others using in Brisbane?
Based on the published and measured hardness of around 100 mg/L, (equivalent to about 5.5 dH if 1 dH is 17 mg/L?), I have set the bypass to 60 from the table posted by wizzzzzer above.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Reviving this one to see if you can report back on how it's been going this year? I just installed a C150 Purity and have pretty much the same query. As I have very soft mains water here in Wollongong too the manual suggests a 70% bypass - I'm cool with that for the correct TH however I assume this only means I'm getting 30% of the water filtered for chemical & particle impurities? Would there be any issue with pumping it up to 0% bypass to ensure all water is filtered (apart from the potential low-water sensor not detecting enough ions)?

Yep will do, I just also like to also get an opinion from the collective wisdom of The Internet

Try an initial 50% bypass and then check for scale after 6 months. On relatively soft Sydney water, you should be fine.

started a topic Brita purity C150 bypass value?

    Brita purity C150 bypass value?

So I installed the brita purity C150 kit (only took me about 3 goes until I didn't have any leaks ) that the friendly chaps at jetblack sold me, however there was no installation manual and searching on the net is just giving me marketing pdfs. After installing, I tested my unfiltered water and found it's already quite soft (close to yellow on the test strips.) The filtered water is even more yellow, but both the 70% and 30% bypass settings look the same to me - I'm guessing it's as soft as it needs to be and at the limit of what the test strips can indicate (I'm in Sydney, north shore, I believe the water around here is already quite soft)

So I'm guessing I can bypass quite a bit, but am not sure which way around the 30-70 figures are. Does 70% mean that 70% is getting bypassed (this is what I'd assume but we know what assumptions are the mother of) or does 70% mean 70% is getting filtered? Am I even on the right track and is this even what the bypass setting does?
Working...
