Hi all,
I have used a Sunbeam EM4800 for ever and a day and a while ago, for a month, was minding a Gaggia Classic
I now have a second hand Silvia which I have replaced the seal (old one was petrified) and shower screen, cleaned the water spreader and behind/around the seal etc.
I noticed there was no spring in the portafilter to hold the basket in so I bought one of those also - all from Coffee Parts -
I find the basket so hard to get out (need a screwdriver to lever it out). Is that normal or do you just leave the basket in after cleaning it?
I only get to make coffee about 3 times a week so the longest I would not use the machine would be 3 days.
My EM4800 had a pressurised basket so I had to take it out to dry otherwise the underside never dried.
Also, are there any hints to making a good shot with the Silvia? I notice it is a lot more unforgiving than the Gaggia Classic.
I have a Sunbeam EM0480 grinder.
TIA.
