Re: dmm on a boiler anyone?
No it probably wont void your warranty. And you can attach it using some heat transfer compound.....or search up some old threads on Silvia boiler thermometer...instead of using a DMM with thermocouple, Luca, I and some other snobs attached a thermometer from Jaycar which cost I think $50.

Re: dmm on a boiler anyone?
Lots of people have but the trick is to find the best point to attach to so that the reading is indicative of what ends up getting the group, since the temp varies within the boiler.
I put mine near the brew thermostat simply because it was easy to attach there. But my surf is consistent enough that I removed it.

dmm on a boiler anyone?
Morning all
I was woindering has anyone successfully attached the thermocouple probe used in bean roasting to a boiler to monitor boiler temp similarly like a PID does?(i know PID alters temp, dont want to do that yet) Specifically for a Silvia but any machine for purposes of my question that woke me this morning after my new prescription gave me a whoping 5 hours sleep!
And would this attaching of probe wire void warranty? :-/
Things ya think of with too much time on your hands
TIA
