Copied here an email I just received and responded to, with sender obfuscated. Wow. Just wow.
Hi XXXXX.
Discontinue use of the machine IMMEDIATELY and unplug it. It is a serious safety concern and you or someone else may suffer injury or death from an electric shock. Your machine needs to be checked for electrical safety, properly earthed and the fault rectified.
You should also have a licensed electrician check your house wiring and install a Residual Current Device or safety switch. These simple devices save lives in exactly this scenario by detecting and preventing the use of faulty appliances.
I can't give you any indication on cost as I don't know what the fault is, or the history of the machine, but I daresay it can be fixed economically - my workshop is in Northcote, are you able to drop the machine off there during business hours or saturday mornings?
Thanks, Rick

Hi Rick,
I got your name from the Coffee Snobs site and I am writing in regards to my Isomac coffee machine.
The machine does not have an earth just a two pin European ac plug. It seems to build up and gives off a nasty static discharge. We have to use rubber gloves in order to use the machine.
I am wondering how much something like that would cost and also to have the machine serviced.
Thank You
