  • scales - calibration important?

How important is it to calibrate scales for weighing dose and yield?

If using the same scale (especially in a home setting) I would think it is not so important as the same scale is being used to measure on each end, so whatever error there may be is represented in both readings.

If using two dedicated scales (larger one for measuring dose and a smaller one for measuring yield) then it starts to become interesting as both scales will have a different margin of error.

For home use are people calibrating their scales?

Depends how accurate you want to be I guess. Grab a few items (glasses, jars, pet canary) and check the readout on both scales for consistency.

    Cheers

Checked calibration of mine when I bought them (about 7 years ago) it was spot on, haven't bothered since.

I do zero mine each time I turn them on.

As Artman says, consistency is more important than pinpoint accuracy.
