Hi all,
I recently switched from my stock Expobar Minore IV basket to a Pullman 19-22g basket and have really struggled to get anything other than a gushing flood through it. After a lot of wasted coffee and a ton of time trawling forums for ideas as to what I was doing wrong, I started grinding significantly finer and I seem to be heading back towards decent coffee again.
I'm now grinding so fine on my Mazzer Mini E that I'm topping out the 30 second timer to grind 22g to get a 40g extraction in 30s @ 9 bar. My grinds almost feel like flour, and I'm now switching my Mini E burrs for Super Jolly burrs as they are more aggressive and grind faster.
Wondering if this is normal or matches others' experiences with precision baskets, or have I gone way off track somewhere?
Cheers,
Tim
