Force Tamper

I'm convinced its a better tamper than anything else, but not convinced the improvement over what I already have today (which works well) is worth so much money. In fact, I'm not even sure I'd pay half of what they're asking.

Do you kow what the max pressure the force tamper can provide?

It is the end game of tampers, especially if the user has any ailments in hands / wrist.
Ive had many tampers over the years, cheaper ones, good quality / value like cafelat, pullmans and pergs, barbers and barista hustle. I got the force from coffeeparts on pay later and will not ever return to a normal tamper.
I get a perfect level tamp with the same force applied everytime without any effort, so easy it can be done with one thumb.
The tamper used kinetic energy from a loaded spring. As one pushes down slowly compressing coffee right at the end of piston stroke it releases the required enegy into the puck. The amount of force is easily adjusted.
It allows more time for care to be taken with distribution of coffee in the filter basket. Im glad to have removed tamping variable from espresso prep.

That depends on the quality of the item. Click-release is used for high precision torque wrenches (and low quality ones too).Originally posted by level3ninja View PostThe click ones only ensure you are tamping at least the preset pressure and usually significantly more.

Does that one click when the preset downward pressure is reached or retract back upwards away from the coffee? The force does the latter, which actually sounds like it might work. If so, probably a bit too much for a tamper?
I've seen similar from tough coffee (Chinese brand) at $70 mark.
