honestly, I am fairly new to the home espresso game. I am still in the "appliance" league but anyway my 6910 is a lot better than my previous em2800 (it is what it is!) through sifting through the forums I wanted to get myself a naked porta filter, a cheap beat-up old machine and a hole saw. Voilà, a naked. And then it also had a broken handle. I asked a friend who is a bit "handy"... Did he know anyone who turned wood. He replied with "Me!" and offered to see what he could do. The results are brilliant, although the handle needs a little tweak, this is a first draft.

You are half lucky. That is the "newer, 2010 and later" 6910 overall, however it looks you have the "older 6910" brass portafilter holder - which I personally vastly prefer (it heats up a lot quicker even though it has similar thermal mass). That is why a holesaw cut it so easily - the newer ones are stainless, and the even newer ones a even thicker stainless - slow speed drill stand and cutting oil is essential to convert them to a naked.
Well done, also neat job your mate did on the handle (wood is so much nicer than plastic).
Enjoy your cuppa
