    I have not tried anything other than an off the shelf steel one, the Sunbeam half steel half plastic (thin steel sheet actually) and the custom one that Greg Pullman made for me. I love the Pullman product and wouldnt seek out anything else for the home. I imagine that a nice soft rubber (not too soft) handle might be kinder on the hand making 100 coffees a day, but I can say that the wood handle is never an issue for me. The service is fantastic and as pointed about above ship off your basket and (presumably laser or top mechanical) calipers are put on the basket and the tamper is made up to suit perfectly. Its a think of beauty...its Australian, and its very reasonable price wise.

            espro worries me re the fact that it wouldnt fit right, and you spend big money on it! I think Pullman is the go
