    Hi Guys,

Quite a few people have made knock-boxes from small sections of a suitably sized piece of downpipe into which a rubber sleeved section of wooden dowel rod is fixed. Very cheap to buy adaptors of various sectional profiles from Bunnings, etc......

Good job. The cheapest I can find anywhere was $39.95. I think I would rather put that money towards a good tamper.

i just used a cheap flexy plastic container 120mm high & the rubber is 98mm long
trimmed the front so it looks like a proper one

just see it a waste of money spending $30 to buy one.

my new knock box & Tamper

just thought idd show you my $5 knock box & my wood turning skills with a redgum tamper

i do have a solid stainless tamper but mate is adding rings to it like the pullman ones have ..
even though its a bit heavy & i have arthritis in my wrist the redgum tamper is much lighter & still works well,
cos its wood it only needs a wipe with a dry cloth so never needs to ever get wet ....
