Very classy looking machine there davec..... Welcome to CoffeeSnobs [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

It might be an optical illusion but from the photo it doesnt appear as though there is much room between the bottom of the PF and the top of the drain tray. I know that some manufacturers utilise a reversible tray-top to allow for the use of tallish mugs or glasses, is that what the "Izzo" does?

    Cheers ,
    Mal.

    Gday Mal & Davec,

This machine sounds impressive but unfortunately the link to the photo isnt working. Any chance of putting the picture here so we can all see it?

    Thanks,
    Thomas

            Thanks for the welcome.

Your right about the group to drip tray height, it is a little less on the Duetto, compared to some machines. For comparison, the edge of the group (no portafilter inserted) is exactly 12cm above the drip tray. As I also own an older Izzo Alex MK1 and pretty much always use a Naked Portafilter, I dont think about it. In fact the group is a good 1.5 cm higher than the old MK1 Alex of mine.

The tray top cant be reversible, because it has runners and stays in place when you remove the drip tray (if you want it too)....although with a 1.8 litre drip tray there would be plenty of room for a reversible tray, or even a tray to stand inside the drip tray as an alternative to using the top one. It was actually designed after careful review of other twin boiler machines to try and build on the good points of those machines and improve areas that could be improved (but they missed the cup tray heh  )

The same measurement on my Expobar Leva is about 14cm.
