Hi Speleomike,
Those measurements you give are identical to my Synesso triple basket, so I think you can be pretty sure that its a triple basket, not a double.

I have the stepped LM basket Matched to a Pullman Tamper
It takes 18.5 to 19 grams of coffee to make a good espresso shot

The basket that came with your naked PF is probably a triple.

Profile of an LM basket compared to another basket
Hi all
For my old Silvia I purchased a few months ago a La Mazzocco double basket.
For my new Galatea I ordered a bottomless PF from DiBartoli and it came with a quite deep basket. This is excellent as its deeper than the double that came with the Galatea.
It is steeper sided than the LM one and is 27 mm deep while the LM one is 24mm deep.
The main difference though is the shape. The LM slopes inwards so the base is smaller than the top and the dia of the holed region is 44mm. Its quite rounded at the bottom.
The one that came with the PF has a dia of the holed region at the bottom of 50mm and the sides are nearly vertical and not as rounded at the bottom.
Question. What if any difference will there be? There is far more area of holes for the non LM basket. Does the profile of a basket make any difference to the extraction?
Mike
