Yeah if they will be used to weigh out coffee for retail sale then they’ll need to be calibrated and certified.

Scales used for trade may need to adhere to some standards. It may be worthwhile to do some research.

If the scales are just to be used for coarse measurements such as retail quantities of roasted coffee beans, I reckon you could go for a Salter kitchen type scale for (at a guess) between $50 and $100. If you wanted something commercial quality, try Nisbets Catering Equipment. Any of these items won't have the integrated brew functions (eg timers, etc) so if that is what you had in mind, then check some of the site sponsors. Much depends on the usage scenario.

    Best scale for coffee shop?

I want to gift my local coffee shop a scale for measuring beans, because their one broke, and now they keep giving me 500g+ bags at 250g prices. Given we are locked down in Melbourne, I thought it's the least I could do. What would people recommend and what prices would I be looking at for something a cafe owner would be able to use? Would it need to be a drip scale?
