  • Advice on baskets

    Hi
I am not a complete newbie having had a Gaggia classic for years and have just upgraded to a VBM Domobar Super so I need to up my game to match the calibre of my machine.
The VBM came with a double basket and a single basket but only one portafilter with a double spout.
So far I have been using the single basket for one cup and a double basket for two cups. Rather than change all the time is it ok to use the double basket and just half fill it or is this a big no no?
Also is it worth buying a second single spout portafilter or am I wasting my money?

    Cheers
    Dale

I have a naked filter that I use all the time with a double and a twin spouter that I leave a blind basket in and do a water back-flush with my last coffee of the day.
I use decaf WoW to moderate my caffeine intake.
Life is too short for singles.

Never half full the basket. Just use the double basket and spit it between 2 cups, even if you sink the other half. I would say it's a waste of money to buy a single spout portafilter.
