Look at the boiler before you even buy the pump. That's why I said descale it manually through the top first.

yeah, pump was a mess inside... Will probably order a new one, but cleaned the old one to see if it gets water to the boiler.Originally posted by Jackster View PostProbably the pump is rusted from being dry, or it's one way valve has muck in it.
Rcd tripping because you got the element wet when draining.
Id guess it needs stripping and cleaning out. New pump, plus maybe your new boiler.
Take lots of pics as you go...
New boiler...Any ideas on the compatibility off other machines? Maybe hard to find an original replacement. Dont want to replace other parts if I get to the boiler but find that cannot source a replacement- whats next?

it had water in it from its last time of use before left in storage for a few years.
How often does coffee machine suck the water into the boiler? I cannot find a repair manual so don't know what to look for first

Boiler needs water in it before turning it on, or it will burn the element out.

it works. but I don't see it sucking water in from the water canister. Can see it in the pipes but its not moving.
Heating element works, but after a while (me trying to drain all the old water out of the boiler) it started tripping house RCD =(
Also it suppose be able to run hot water through the steam wand, but only steam comes out.

Probably a good machine to learn about repairing yourself. Maybe give the boiler a descale, manually through a top port before plugging it in to see if it works.
After that, you might be able to see what it requires and a rough costing

I picked up Domus Classic for $30. How much (max) would you invest in getting it working? Was unused for many years. Worst case would have to replace boiler
