  • Aeropress and Australian Capricorn Coast

Well, I tried out my new Aeropress from Cuppacoffee with fresh Corretto roasted Australian Capricorn Coast beans. I was really impressed.

The big test was my son who is hard to convince anything is as good as what he makes on his Silvia.

One could see the skepticism flush all over his face when he saw the Aeropress on his kitchen bench. I am staying at his house during School Hols looking after the granddaughter and not allowed to touch his beloved Miss Silvia.

Anyway I made him a latte using the aeropress for the base shot (he let me use Silvia for the milk). He took one mouthfull and swirled it in his mouth, did all the cupping type noises etc and swallowed and uttered nothing.

The next mouthful went much the same way but at the end he turned to me, his eyes lit up and he said, "that was bloody good!". He was impressed by the simplicity and compactness (is that a word?) of the unit and how easy it was to clean but mainly the coffee produced.

IMO that says it all for Aeropress. Yes, I will still use my machine but when I cant it will be Aeropress everytime. My cupboard will be less cluttered now I will be throwing out my collection of Bodums or Bodum clones and a couple of stovetops. My other son is taking one back to Vietnam with him and his wife to enjoy.

Thanx Dennis at Cuppacoffee for a great product at a great price and great customer service.

      Theyre beaut alright.... 8-)

Try experimenting a bit with grind size and water temperature; not huge variation, just a couple of notches either way on the grinder and a couple of degrees C either way with the water. You may be surprised at just how much you can tune to get the best out of one S.O. to another. Worth doing ,

      Mal.
