I’m looking at getting my mum a better set of scales. I currently own acaia lunar but this is a hefty price tag for her. I’m looking at getting the brewista smart scale 2 or timemore scales. For the $100 budget, what would be the best option? Something smaller and accurate is ideal

I have the brewista for occasional training at work, it’s ok
i use the timemore at home & like it (except it’s white) it’s rechargeable & bigger which is better for group handles

For a non-enthusiast/ function over form situation, evilBay does a variety of some fairly decent scales for milk money.
Just purchased a second set of 500g/ 0.01gm (jokingly referred to by a mate as my drug dealer scales...I worry about him, lol) for around $6, batteries included.
Plus a set of pourover scales, 3kg/0.1gm for about $24. Both for my away kit.
The originals are 2 years old and still chugging along quite nicely. (They work fine, look ok to me) and the price means I'm not going to lose it if they get damaged.
(Both use AAA batteries which quite frankly I prefer as it means they're not just pricey landfill if the batteries expire)
