Unfortunately the other half likes his "Stein" and there is no way it will fit under the PF of my Unico...and for this I have to remove the drip tray.

I have glass mugs that we use everyday, and these again are a small problem if I use the double spout. The single isnt a problem.

with the naked PF on my Domobar the mugs easily slide under, even a tall latte glass will fit.

I am pleased to say that I got an Oscar, and my mug fits under it very easily

Its very slightly taller than a regular mug, but the oscar handles it quite happily.

    mmmmm home made mugaccinos!

VBM Domobar Super just fits the small Duralex glasses.
Bezzera Domus Galatea fits anything, especially if you get it naked.

I have a set of ceramic mugs from a pottery in Margaret River, they fit under the double spout of Silvia if I angle them slightly to get them under each spout, its a bit hard seeing how much espresso is in the mug so I time the shots when making our morning specials.....................

I went out and bought a soup mug when i came across that problem a few years ago when I had a cheapie machine. It was squat and wide and holds a decent amount for a morning java fix...

    cheers

Ditto for the Imat Mokita and the Bezz... No problems with all the mugs in our cupboard,

    Mal.

Our Breville Ikon 400 fits a very sizeable mug under it without much effort. My 3800 fits whatever cups Ive tried.

Id say take your cup into the shop with you

In the end if it doesnt fit I tend to pour shots into a smaller holder first.

in the pics i have seen, only the oscar seems like it has a lot of room under the pf. ... is the pic merely an illusion?
Yes, the tray on the oscar has two positions and can be turned so that it fits a large mug under the portafilter. If you use the two-holed spout and a tall mug, you might need to wiggle it a bit to get the mug out, not a big problem.

Doesnt it depend how big your mug is? Ive seen mus in all shapes and sizes.
Of course. I just went and got the biggest mug out of the cupboard that I could see. ;D
Now I suppose Ill have to measure it... : 113mm (4.5 in.)

Id say with a naked PF you would be right on most machines.
Well, that was sortof my point
-- the idea being, if youve got a nudie, you can pretty much fit anything (within reason : )

I can fit just about any mug under the nekkid PF on my Silvia

Under the ordinary double-spout however, well thats a different story!

    Hi

You can always remove either the platform on top of the drip tray or the drip tray itself on most machines. That will give you an extra 3 cm or so.
Itd give you 3 inches on a Minore hahaha, no kidding.

Most of these machines are not designed for mugs :-)

Space available to the PF spout is 10 cm on my Galatea

So you will have to measure your mug to find out
