So, turns out its not that easy to find a braided hose with female 3/8" connections. Everything seems to be 1/2". Anyone know where I can find a long 3/8" to 3/8" female braided hose for my machine? around 1.5-2.5m long.
Cheers
Please make sure the inner tube of the braided hose uses food grade silicon.
Tip.... may be easier to go with the 1/2' and use adapters at each end as Robusta has said
I am curious.
What is special about coffee machine hoses?
My local Blunderings has braided hoses in dozens of lengths and sizes, all designed for connecting hot and cold drinking water to taps etc.
Water supply to a coffee machine would only be cold and at fairly low pressure.
The water supply to the filter which would normally be fitted is probably already going to be one of these.
Not trying to be argumentative, truly curious.
The only thing I can think of, is that the material lining the hose and in contact with the water may add an unwanted taint to the water. Not my area of expertise but someone else may have a more educated understanding of the specifics.
I found that the hoses from Bunnings typically have a rubber insert in the end cap to seal. But the coffee hoses are metal on metal seal, and need to be made to a much higher precision than a rubber seal. There may be other options that someone familiar with hoses can let us in on, but all I know is the ones from Bunnings leaked and the ones from Coffee Parts didn't

Fair enough.
My only coffee machine experience has been with the factory kit on a Bianca and to be honest I was surprised it sealed.
With hydraulic fittings at much higher pressures I have had problems when slightly different styles were used, not so much sealing but just getting quick release fittings to go together or come apart.
I suspect that the Bunnings fittings would be fine if one could source the appropriate adapters.

I had Pacific Hoseflex in QLD make some braided teflon hoses for me for one of my wine technology developments a while ago. The product supplied was exactly what I ordered and they were surprisingly reasonably priced for custom work.
