OK cool, might try increasing the frequency a bit and see how I get on. Thanks.

I pulled my FCD on my Bianca for the first time in over a year yesterday to replace the O-rings.
The Mushroom was clean as a whistle.
I chemical backwash with a large displacement plunger about once every three months and have very good water filtration.

Yeahnar.... Go gently. When the suds run clean, you're done. Nevertheless, nothing wrong with a minor pulldown and lubrication- say every 3-6 months. Takes 5 or 10 min.

On an e61 machine? Does frequent chemical backflushing not mean you need to dismantle and lubricate the group all the time?

I go in far more frequently (weekly) on the chemical backwash: weekly with a fingernail of your chosen product. Keep any buildup soft and then you don't require much in the way of detergent to remove it.

E61 cleaning
Hi All,
I just want to check if there's any additional cleaning steps I should be adding to my routine.
For reference my machine is a Profitec pro 600.
After each shot:
- flush the group head;
- empty portafilter;
- clean portafilter under running water (use a bottomless portafilter so can clean well after each use);
- wipe drip tray.
After each day:
- water backflush and wipe drip tray;
- empty drip tray as required.
Weekly:
- wash the water resavoir;
- wash the drip tray;
- wipe down the machine panels with a damp microfiber;
- drop shower screen and group gasket and wash them;
- clean dispersion plate and general area in the brew group before reinserting shower screen and group gasket.
Every 2 months:
- chemical backflush;
- grease brew leaver if required.
