  • Cleaning water reservoir

How do I clean my plastic water reservoir from my ECM machine? Has gotten brown grime on it especially on the water level device.

And this is downstream of a decent water filtering system?

Why not try a nylon bristle dish washing brush after soaking the reservoir overnight with a half-teaspoon of Cafetto dosed water.

Gaby what Mal is rightfully referring to is that what your describing in your water tank is a (lesser) representation of what you'll find down-line through out your machines brewpath etc. inc boilers, valves, sensors, The Jet (Gicluer) and more.
Some here choose to ignore it.....and deal with repairs if and when they pop their ugly head up.....
Others choose the Preventive Maintenance path and filter their water knowing there is at the minimum additional detritus that makes its way into the water supply downstream from the last point of treatment....no matter how good the local authority convincingly fools itself that their water is worlds best.
Even say if you discard the water chemistry side.....a 1 stage (15micron std /level) or even a 2 stage filter system (5, 2 or even 0.5micron level) is not totally difficult to install, overly expensive or hard to source (some big green sheds).

Note: Im not ' a water guy' nor pushing anything, but passing on what Ive found to be true which was gleaned from this wonderful forum in the first instance.....

The 'reflux' tipped back out of my initial stage water filtration system on a recent cartridge change.

*There's another previous post 12 mths or so ago here that has a pic I posted of a Wine Glass full of similar 'red earth cordial' from a then prev cartridge replacement.
Note 2/ BION....A portion of my local water is sourced from one of the biggest sand filters in the world !
