  • Diamond Italia

Im a bit of a newby whos looking to upgrade my machine to something more serious. Ive started the research, and am looking at the usual suspects - VBM, Giotto, et. al. However Ive come across the Diamond Italia machine which Im also considering. Has anyone bought or used one of these machines? Are they worth considering?

    Re: Diamond Italia

Hi Luke, we sell a fair few of these machines as well as the usual suspects you mention.
The reason the Italia is so popular is because of the price, and finish. The machine looks great (if thats your style) and compared to the other machines you mentioned there is just about a mazzer mini as the price difference. Essentially, all e61 Hx prosumers are capable of making the same great coffee when operated correctly.
I have this machine at home and am more than happy with the coffee it produces.

      Luke;

All the machines at this level are quite good, another that you should have a look the Isomac range as well, they are pretty good and they have good price as well.

      regards

I think thats a rather sweeping statement Jason :-?

All retailers choose a range. Some candidates will fit into that range and some wont. Those which are ranged have to clear a bar where performance and value are weighed against each other- simple as that. Poorly constructed machines and bad performers dont get ranged- regardless of price.

My thoughts are that its inappropriate to comment about a machine I havent seen. So I dont.

On the other hand there are some machines I have tested which I dont like but cannot comment publicly on. I can and do feed back to suppliers as to why a machine will not be ranged though.

Rather than wax lyrical, my preference is to call em warts and all so that the purchaser is provided with factual information and can make an informed choice. By default my opinions and observations are therefore likely to be conveyed.

                Chris

CSers please note that my comments are not directed at any particular brand.

                  hi luke
i have recently purchased a diamond italia and with my limited espresso making experience and knowledge can
only say that i am very happy with the machine.we have it matched with a rancilio rocky grinder and grind freshly each time we make a coffee.
my wife has a good coffee palate and is of the opinion we are making coffees ,although a little inconsistantly,of a cafe standard at least.
we are still learning however the espresso appears to be very good and the steaming capacity is excellent producing good froth.
we had the opportunity to buy a expobar minore 11 for only an extra $100 howver our budget was not infinate
and although tempted by the twin boilers etc we opted to put the extra towards a better grinder.
we also loved the retro styling of the italia and the 2 year warranty and understand that cs sponsor diamond c services provide excellent service i hope this helps you, regards
                  alan
