Its very slow measuring 7 grams always you want a shot
Not if you use a full doser.
You adjust the measure for each click of the dosing handle.
Once its set it stays the same for each dose.

      HI Oton

your second point is exactly my point - people filling their pfs with 20 plus grams of coffee for 2 shots is a little alien to me

        I agree.
        I use 18.5 grams for one 20ml ristretto. :
Whatever causes them to push so much water through so little coffee? 8-)

            Re: Dosing Levels

More caffeine comes out of the second half of a shot than the first IIRC.

            And whats wrong with caffeine?

My Readers Digest this month is extolling the health benefits of coffee drinking.

              Re: Dosing Levels

As TG says, the caffeine concentration rises as the shot progresses.

My doppio ristrettos are very sweet, not bitter at all. Caffeine is very bitter.

I suggest you use three small cups for a taste test--pull the first 10ml in one cup, a second 10ml in the next and a final 10ml in the third. Then taste individually. This will help you find YOUR ideal extraction level.

Ill leave you with a little barista gem

First half of the pour represents grind setting, second half of the pour represents dose.
I was waiting for somebody to pick up on this but instead it just seemed to get glossed over, which is an absolute crime. I think of all the things Ive read here, this would possibly be the most intelligent one liner Ive ever come across!
