  • Differnce between Giotto Premium and Premium plus

    Hi CSs

This may have been discussed but what are the differences between the old Giotto Premium and the new Giotto premium plus.
I have the opportunity to buy a 2nd hand Premium or purchase a new premium Plus for about a grand more.

I am also looking at the Diadema Unico splendor.

    Any thoughts.

I have a Compak K3 touch so that should match up well with either machine

    Thanks in advance

Re: Differnce between Giotto Premium and Premium plus

        Hi Patto,

        Things to consider:
[*]Stainless VBM is on a stainless chassis whereas the GPP is on black powdercoat[*]The VBM drip tray is much larger and of a better design[*]Giotto steam wand perhaps a little easier to use[*]VBM runs a touch warmer and may need the odd cooling flush. This is by no means a deal breaker[*]Giotto tank very easily accessed and filled[*]VBM has bigger boiler, bigger steam and bigger tank[*]Giotto probably a touch more forgiving in shots[*]Both superb finish, VBM internal build perhaps just a touch more sturdy than Giotto[*]VBM hot water wand design a bit silly- form over function IMHO

The Diadema is also a great machine, though of lower capacity. Diadema build is also very good!

Nevertheless, ANY of these machines would easily cope with your biggest dinner party.

If used well, you will love any of these machines. All produce brilliant results and are very popular in Australia. The GPP and VBM are our 2 best sellers FWIW...

Happy to assist with more advice (or a purchase ) if I can...

        Chris

          Hi Patto

Day two with the GPP and I am yet to fault it.

I spent a lot of time comparing the VBM and GPP. In my opinion, they are both fantastic units and you can do a lot worse than buy either of the two. Each has their pros and cons but it really is half a dozen of one and six of the other.

Try and get a chance to run a few shots through each and buy whatever you are happy with. Any of the site sponsors would be more than happy to help you with your decision. I have now purchased several machines and was always given great advice for my requirements (and budget) at the time.

I was keen on the Giotto before the updated GPP was released so if you can get the older model at $1k discount then I would just go for it!
