    Thanks Paul
Your help in all aspects has been invaluable.
I had a great arvo out at Barazi, your presence made everything alot easier & more relaxed.  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
Hopefully one day we can get together and drink some coffee for something different.

Yep... They are all great support and Paul...

Well..... Other than the fact that he does not invite me over for Traditional food : ;D

He is a all round great guy and his roasting approach and ability to put visuals into a working system is just out there..

    Great stuff.

Good to hear you are making headway Jordan
There is always a learning curve whenever one changes equipment. Be it a car or espresso machine

Just takes an few days and some practice

    Regarding the milk foam

Always start with cold milk and the right size jug
The position of the wand in the milk jug is important for developing volume and texture

For best volume e.g. Cappuccino, it should sit just below the surface (up to the bulbous tip joining the steam pipe)

For best texture e.g. latte art, it is better to be slightly deeper (up to the bulbous tip join + 10mm up the steam pipe)

It is important to position the steam wand differently for different coffee drinks.

Keep practising and it will all click into place

I think i have the grinder dialled in for the beans i am using at the moment.
It was set too fine at first and no coffee came out, now its nice and slow and gold.
I finally got a handle on KKs frothing description, finally made one this arvo for guests that was way better than before, i had the tip of the steam wand too far under .
Slowly but surely i am getting a handle on everything.
    Thanks for everyones help.
    cheers
    Jordan

Best tip I can think of Lozzo,

Is to sign up for a local Home Barista course ASAP... You will learn most of everything you need to know about using machines like yours and getting the best out of her. Would be a shame not to be using the Bezz to its full potential.....

BTW, do you get any drips from the steam valve area while steaming
Not that i have seen in the last 2 days.
Hmmm. My machine might need a bit more refurbishing then.... :P

Id stick with an easy to handle blend (ask your preferred roaster) for a week and really get it dialled in so you get a good grasp of how the machine behaves before exploring the realms of coffeedom quite so much.

I also know i can get more from my shots aswell, still playing with the grinder and i have used 3 different coffees in 2 days - but i am having a bucket load of fun trying.

Enjoy your new gear Lozzo, changing beans often means dialling in the grinder, I switched from Guatamalan to Indian this morning and there was a vast difference in grind setting for the two. Its all good fun.

aside from the rather small drip tray.
    Agree with you there.

I don`t have milk based coffee so with guests here at the moment , frothing the milk is not that good, no ones complained, but its not good i know that much. I have read KKs advice on how to get good microfoam, but at the moment i need ALOT more practice.

    Re: New Equipment

Hard to believe that in this day and age, a design this old is still being built (my BZ99 is over 12 years old). I guess they got this machine pretty well right from the beginning, aside from the rather small drip tray.

Congratulations and enjoy your purchase. If you have the 4 hole steam tip and find it tricky to get microfoam, then the 2 hole 10mm steam tip from CoffeeParts works great with this machine.

BTW, do you get any drips from the steam valve area while steaming

From time to time Veneziano in West End hold free cupping classes generally on Saturday mornings spanning about 6 weeks
It is a great way to learn more about coffee appreciation
And Peter Wolff is a funny character while conducting the session
You can also buy green beans & roast them on the 1KG shop roaster
So your journey has only just begun (always more to learn   )

    Wishing you
Many happy espressos Lozzo from your new Bezzera BZ99

Yep, it is a great Culture and all about learning.. And sharing and Caring :-*

Ummm "Peter Wolff is a funny character while conducting the session " I guess that could be said.. Some might then ask what is he like after / out side of lessons.... DO not go there

Just do not touch teh furniture or re arrange it... Penny is a lovely lady... However she has been known to use some strange words out of context on ME ;D : :-[
