  • Grimac La Una Steam Tip

    Hey Guys,

I have the Grimac (La Una/Mia/Mini), with a single hole steam tip.

It is ok, but after reading the pro review of this machine I think a 2 or 3 hole tip would be better.

My Issue is that this machine has a 5 or 6 mm steam pipe and cant find anyone who sells this size tip.

Any CSs know who would sell them?

    Thanks

    Chris

Grinders import Grimacs and theyre the contact for spare parts.  I have a Grimac too and having only ever received grief from Grinders I choose to deal with Genovese who are just the most wonderful people to deal with and are now a sponsor.  Last time I called Grinders they told me that they dont handle Grimacs anymore however Genovese advised that its Grinders who they get the spare parts from.

    I hope this info helps!

      Thanks Kohi,

I have called Grinders when i had the issue with the beeping flow meter, they said they service the machines but as I dont have a contract with them... it would be a 4-6 week wait.

I then called Craig "The Super Techie" at Veneziano who let me walk in and have him fix it while i was there.

Craig mentioned that I should realy change the whole steam pipe to a standard pipe if i really wanted a 3 hole tip, but that would be a $120 - $150 mod... way too much just for the steam wand.

I will give Grinders a call on Monday to see what they have for the machine.

      Cheers

      Chris

Thats good info to know about the steam wand - Id love a 3 hole tip too. $120-$150 is a tad expensive, isnt it. I still want one though!

Good luck with Grinders. Sounds like youre getting a bit further with them than I ever did (not that their info is what you want to hear - a 4-6 week wait is a bit rough).

          Gday kohi...

For that money though, that would probably only buy the valve and fittings. You would likely have to have the internal pipework modified to fit it in properly, no problem if youre able to do this yourself otherwise, youd need to add to this figure to cover the cost of a technician to do the job for you...

Just in case anyone was still interested I fitted one of these to my Grimac Mia and it screwed straight on (with some teflon tape of course)

              And this should fit too..
