Re: Filter leaking/overflowing
I say on average 6 - 12 months depending how many coffees you make and how many times the machine has been switched on/off in that time.Originally posted by 3F3E333B313A520 link=1244123173/5#5 date=1244335378How long is the life on the sealing rings anyway?

Re: Filter leaking/overflowing
Thanks for the replies again. Looks like it may be the seal. I thoroughly cleaned the group head yesterday. It wasnt very dirty anyway. The seal looked ok however.
First coffee this morning, and it leaked again. Oh well.

Re: Filter leaking/overflowing
Thanks for the replies.
Just walked in the door, so I havent yet had a chance to look at the o-ring. But to answer some of the questions here:
1. I have the brush, and clean up around the group head regularly.
2. The machine is about a year old.
3. Its dripping a weak-ish coffee. Or just stained water.

I agree with Atilio
Also could be that you have damage the basket, if you knock off the coffee in the sink.Originally posted by 2C2D20282229410 link=1244123173/0#0 date=1244123173Ive noticed that at times, during extraction, I get a runoff that starts dripping off the handle during extraction. Its as if the filter basket is leaking or overflowing somehow.
It doesnt happen always. Its only started happening in the last few weeks. Dose and tamper are unchanged. I realise its not 100% identical every time, but its as consistent as I can get it.
Question is dripping water or coffee?
How old is the machine?

Re: Filter leaking/overflowing
Use a group head bush to brush around in the group ring area, then use the blind filter and do "the jiggle" to wash those grinds away until the overflow runs clean.
If you still get a leak over the top after you have done that there are 2 scanarios:
1) you could be overfilling the filter with grinds, or
2) the group seal could be in need of replacement.
Hope this helps.

Might be the rubber seal on the group head??
Have a look under the group with a torch.

I had a search but couldnt find anything that matched.

Any ideas?
