  • Squeaky Steam Knob - Giotto Premium

I have recently noticed that my steam knob feels a bit different and almost has a feel of grinding metal-against-metal when opening and closing. Can someone please tell me what I need to do for fixing this?
    Can I use CRC spray?
And also where exactly I need to apply?
.. or do I need some other lubricant?

    Cheers!

It works like a normal house tap
" When Machine is cold "
Undo the nut to remove the washer
give them a clean and a fine wipe of food grade grease including the shaft and re assemble

Inox make a lanolin food grade grease.

Lanolin would not be suitable at all Im afraid... The preferred grease is the one that you and KK linked to, i.e. a specialised silicone based grease,

I will be heading to Jaycar this arvo to get it.

Although.... both product links look vey similar so I am a bit confused what the difference is. Can you explain the difference (out of interest only) Mal?.

Both links are for the same grease and both are synthetic

                However
Lanolin is made from wool fat

                  Gday jb...

As KK has pointed out, both products are almost identical. The product from Jaycar is slightly less viscous than the Dow Corning product. I think both products are useful to have on hand for that very reason though, not all applications require extreme high viscosity and vice versa...
