  • VBM Domobar - busted light

I was descaling today, and the right hand light (which I think is supposed to be green, but has not worked for ages) cracked the front off the lens and now doesnt mount properly.

Where can I get a new one? Cant see it on coffeeparts.

Also, how many flushes does the boiler need after a descale? Ive put at least 5 full tanks through it and it still tastes nasty...

Also on that subject, Im not sure I didnt stuff the pressure gauge by overpressurising the boiler (forgot to open the steam valve when turning the pump on with the level sensor disconnected...)

    Hi Matt,

Re the light, give the guys at ECA a call. They should be able to help you

    http://www.espressocompany.com.au/spare-parts/DOMOBAR-SUPER-CATALOGUE-13.03.09.pdf

If its the green, check page 7, part #11

Re the other questions, Ill let someone with more knowledge answer on those.

    Cheers,

    Caff

Thans Caff. I think its actually part 13 on that page ("Transparent gem"), but the images are so blocky as to be impossible to tell...

as you can see, the face of the lens (sitting on top of the machine) has snapped off the barrel of it.

        Hi Matt

I had the same problem. Got one from Talk Coffee for about $3.50
Any service agent for VBM should be able to get one in.

        Rgds

Thanks to ECA, got sorted - new gem, new light (globe was blown also) and two new tap gaskets for steam and water. Very impressed with the low price of parts for a machine like this.

Good news, I actually ended up with a new bulb and had to glue my jewel. It all works, but good to hear ECA has stock

Ancient thread I know, but how do you actually install the replacement light? The clear end looks like it should unscrew but doesn’t appear to. What’s the trick?
