Well things are on the improve! I actually got asked for a second cup this morning from Darling Beloved man of the house(MOTH) so I guess thats like ALMOST a recommendation? I have watched so many crappy youtubes and a couple of good ones, but what it comes down to is practise, practise, practise. the sites here are invaluable though. the ones on frothing particularly helpful. will get to the artsy stuff later when im more competent at normal ha! ha!

Why be difficult when with a little more effort you can be downright impossible!

this is what I wrote on my facebook page.... ;DI have a new baby Gal in my life!I turn her on in the morning and she keeps me going throughout the day. she can be strong and sweet at the same time.I can make her do one for Bruce too, she likes the doubles. If you get the grind right, then tamper it just so, put it together, hook it up and pour baby gal pour! blonding? stop now. ooohh I just LOVE her! :-* GALATEA DOMUS BEZZERA. with a Kompac K3 Grinder! ;D

    Congratulations "suepergran".... [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

That is a mighty fine combo indeed 8-). I just know youre going to have a smile on your face every time you find an excuse to peek around the corner at the new additions to your family.

You know what we always say around here though, no matter what style of machine you think you want to buy, before handing over the dollars, try to get into a specialist coffee suppliers store (preferably one of our Site Sponsors) and have a play with the machines on show to get a feel for what seems right... Glad to see that you guys are so happy..... ;D

I had written the Galatea off as not on my list I thought it was too weird looking!
Never got to see one in the flesh, but I think I understand how you could have been swayed. The retro look of the Domus is eye-catching on a laptop screen, and would no doubt make a wonderful centrepiece in any kitchen.

    Congratulations and happy bonding.
I never thought much of it visually either until I saw one in the flesh at Coffee Craft recently. Absolutely gorgeous and wonderful finish on it.

OOH yeah!!! I have been SO busy on my return, have not had time to get back on board the coffee snobs until now. SO... the verdict?... We went to see Roger @ Supreme Roasters @ Yatala and walked out the door with a Bezzera Galatea Domus and a K3 grinder. this was after 2& 1/2 hours of chat and learn time with Roger. Its really amusing, because I had written the Galatea off as not on my list I thought it was too weird looking! As with all the advice here and on other forums... you gotta go and try and see. Hervey Bay is a long way from most of the sponsors here, so I thought I was never going to get there. The staff @ Lillianas Cafe here in HB (They have various varieties of beans and do their own roasting) have been a great help too. As was Chris from Coffee Talk when I rang to fire some Qs at him. Bruce and I discovered it is even pleasant to have coffee without sugar if you get the right grind/tamp/beans/pour etc! Now we have it set on timer and wake up to coffee time. YAY! even my son who has his golden bean is a tad jealous.

If youre up that way Id definitely have a chat to Roger from Supreme roasters as hes not too far away.  He recently helped me out with a new little giotto and mazzer combo.

There is a great place just north of Marybrough.. Situated right alongside a service station.. Note: I think caffeine mechanic may even work there
