Re: Giotto - No pressure, needle "jumps"
Did you run off water before it happen? All what you need to do take the tank out fill it with water, what it happen the low water sensor is at botton of the tank, if this is not contacting with water the machine will not work as a safety prevention mechanism.

I have checked the mushroom and it doesnt have any significant buildup there. Any other thoughts on possible causes?
this has nothing to do with the problem.
If the machine is not heating could be many things:
1. Heating element
2. preasuse swicth
3. Safety water level cut off.
If you wish give a call tomorrow and will help you to trouble shoot before you call your local tech.
Purchased in late Jan this year and has been running like a dream since then, but all of a sudden it has stopped heating up, and the pressure guage stays at zero and just flicks up a little (around 0.1 bar) then drops back to zero.
