  • Would you buy a 1992 Bezzera Commercial?

    Hi,

Just wanted to get some opinions before I put my money on the line. If you can get a really really cheap Bezzera from 1992 (says was in cafe), would it be worth it?
How long do Bezzeras normally last?

If it is sub $100 and you are prepared to spend a heap of time and possibly money then do it

A machine that has worked in a cafe since 1992 has lived more than one lifetime.

But if you want a project, then buy it for whatever you think its worth.

Just be aware that most projects remain projects, and those that dont, require many hours of labour.

                Honest Opinion, you asked:

There were much much much better brands / models available at the time however that said I wouldnt buy ANY 1992 ex commercial espresso machine and I wouldnt take an ex commercial bezzera or gaggia of that age group even it if it was offered for free.

You need to realise that a lot of these things offered for sale on fleabay would otherwise (if it were not for fleabays existence) go straight to the dump.

Also as Dennis stated in a round about way above......you either want "the never ending project" for something to do out in the garage at night long term OR.......you want a coffee machine to use now.

                Rgdz,
                A.
