  • HELP - Boema restoration!

Hi everyone, Im really hoping that someone can help me!
Ive just embarked on a restoration of a single group semi-automatic Boema. Its about 10 years old and was in perfect working order but I couldnt help myself and took a few things apart to clean and descale and now its not building pressure.
Steam is escaping from the larger valve on top of the boiler - the one that has holes in the side. Ill upload some photos.
It doesnt make sense because the part was in pretty good condition and  was replaced as it was found.
Is someone able to offer any advice?
    Thank you!
    Sue

    Welcome Sue...... [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Can you keep image size to a maximum of 600(W)x450(H) pixels please? Larger images can slow down page loading considerably, especially for people with limited bandwidth connections.....

If you are unsure about how to easily resize your images,
this link will hopefully assist .

    Thanks,
    Mal.

Hi Renzo, thank you very much for the link. The picture looks slightly different to the one Ive removed - if it definitely fits I will purchase.

I like the one Renzo posted.. I bet it is certified as well.

Had some one ask me once... Why the lead seal...  I started to explain how the Romans did ....  Then I noticed the glazed look..

So I then explained that many meters and other items that are critical, often have this to demonstrate that it has not been tampered with..  Look for the logo in the lead.

Mind you saw some very interesting ways that defeated it and thus allow one to mod and slow down the electrical meters in a few workshops that I have spent time in    But  they all get caught sooner or later.

Hmm...there may be some merit in the glazed expression! hehe. Its surely a good point though.

On closer inspection of Renzos it may be the same and I believe in supporting local communities (which is why I sought out the Boema) - would be good to purchase it from him. From all accounts, it seems that many commercial machines use the most of the same parts...not sure how accurate that info is though...

True as to many common parts / functionality..

Coffeeparts has some pics as well, but I like  the Di Bartoli  one and as a sponsor, they did offer you a solution

The only issue is thread type/size.

Just an update on the restore job.

So, after ordering a new safety valve (among other things), it turns out there was nothing at all wrong with it - I had the spring in the wrong way, what a twit! Hopefully, other people dont make the same stupid mistake because the old one works perfectly well. Oh well...its all a learning process!

                        Re: HELP - Boema restoration!

I realise the original post was last October but for what it is worth I too purchased an old 2 group Boema-semi auto with mechanical timer at auction for $200. Took it over to Boema at Wetherall Park spent $1000 on a complete overhaul including a new cabinet and now sits in pride of place in the garage (wife wouldnt let in the house) it works great.
