Hi all, frequent visitor - first time posting. Firstly Id like to thank everyone for the info and techniques they impart, the benefit is immeasurable. To summarise my situation, the guy who normally does services and repairs for me locally has moved OS, so due to the distinct lack of service/repair in my area, I want to take DIY path. I have a few questions which I know can be answered by the forum in all its wisdom. I have a 2005 Unico Splendor which was last serviced 12 months ago and has provided me with great coffee up until last week when, after a backflush, it refused to supply any water to the head. I have taken outer cowling and inner shields off, given the entire machine a blast with air to get rid of dust and loose grounds, checked all connectors/tions and confirmed that the pump is still priming the boiler. Observations are - some build-up(scale?) around the base of boiler(indicating small leak/s?), and when machine is activated a small amount of water comes from head, OPV and return tube simultaneously. From my searching and reading the forums I am assuming that it is probably the OPV or a solenoid issue?
So the questions are:
a) Am I on the right track with my assumptions re. OPV or solenoid?
b) Should I be concerned about the slight leakage around the bottom of the boiler?
c) From what I understand there are different manufacturers or exporters/importers of this machine. Can anyone tell me the manufacturer/s of my unit and where I can obtain parts for it?
P.S. I emailed Coffee Parts several days ago but have had no response as yet.
Many thanks in anticipation of any replies.
